The LA KISS

I was wandering around a few sports sites this morning when I saw that the Los Angeles Kiss were playing tonight vs. the Jacksonville Sharks. The KISS are the Arena Football team that was bought by KISS bandmates Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley in 2013. Despite my love of football, I haven't followed the AFL (Arena Football League) too closely so I thought I'd do a little research and see how the KISS have been doing. Their home games are quite the spectacle. They start out with an electric guitar rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. The KISS logo is plastered everywhere in the arena and on the field. The KISS cheerleaders are dressed in black leather. Scantily clad women dance around poles in cages that are perched high above each end zone. Betcha Joe Montana didn't envision that when he was slinging touchdown passes to Jerry Rice back in the 1980's.

Now, what about the team itself? Well, in their inaugural season of 2014 the Los Angeles Kiss managed three wins and finished up well out of the playoffs with a 3-15 record. Now that they have had a season with their new owners under their belts, what about 2015? The game tonight vs. the Sharks will be the ninth game of the season for the KISS. Their record is an underwhelming 0-8. They are 19 1/2 point underdogs tonight despite playing at home. The losing record doesn't seem to bother the fans though. After all, there is so much more to see than a football game. It kinda makes one want to rock and roll all night and party every day. GO KISS!
